Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Last updated August 15, 2026

This is a good-faith policy for a youth athletic-training business and online player platform that handles minors' data in Arizona. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed by a licensed Arizona attorney before it is relied upon.

Apex Player, LLC, doing business as Apex Player (“Apex Player,” “we,” “us”), operates apexplayerapp.com and the Apex Player platform, and provides youth soccer and speed/agility training in Arizona. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and — importantly — how we handle children's information under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Children's data & COPPA (please read)

Apex Player is directed to youth athletes and knowingly collects personal information from children under 13. We collect a child's personal information only after obtaining verifiable parental consent from a parent or legal guardian, using a method reasonably designed — considering available technology — to confirm the person giving consent is the child's parent (which may include a monetary transaction through a card or payment system that notifies the account holder, a government-ID check, a signed form, or staffed phone/video verification). We complete a stronger verification before a child's information is disclosed to third parties or made public (for example, an optional public profile or leaderboard).

Consistent with COPPA, we: collect no more information from a child than is reasonably necessary to participate; do not condition participation on disclosing more than is reasonably necessary; obtain separate parental consent before disclosing a child's information to third parties (other than service providers we use to run the service); give parents the right to review the information collected about their child, to delete it, and to refuse to permit further collection or use; maintain reasonable security; and retain the information only as long as needed for the purpose collected. A parent may exercise any of these rights by contacting us at player@apexplayerapp.com.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Apex Player, we collect:

  • Player identity (required). Child's name, date of birth, jersey number, positions, team, and height — needed to provide the service.
  • Athletic performance data (required). Stats and ball-mastery data — speed, acceleration, distance, touches, drill scores, session results, coach evaluations, and development measurements — needed to provide the service.
  • Identifiable photos & video (optional). Images or video of your child are collected only with your separate, optional permission — for private training analysis, marketing, or a public profile — and never as a condition of enrollment.
  • Wearable data. Data received or imported from wearable devices (e.g. a foot sensor) or their providers, which may have their own privacy practices and terms.
  • Parent/guardian contact. Your name, email, and phone number for account access and communications.
  • Payment information. For training/ESA billing and, where applicable, as part of verifying that you are the child's parent or guardian.
  • Usage & device data. Standard app/log data (including IP address and device/session information) used to operate, secure, and evidence consent to the service.

Required vs. optional. Account/profile and athletic performance data are needed to provide the service. Identifiable photos and video, marketing use, and public profiles are optional and collected only with a parent's separate permission — never as a condition of enrollment.

How we use information

  • To operate the platform, create profiles, and track player development and evaluations.
  • To schedule, run, and communicate about training, sessions, scrimmages, and events.
  • To process payments and administer ESA/billing where applicable.
  • To verify parental consent and secure accounts.
  • With separate optional permission: private coaching video analysis, marketing, and a public profile/leaderboard.

How we share information

We do not sell children's personal information. We share information only:

  • Service providers that run the platform on our behalf and are bound to protect the data — for example Google/Firebase (hosting, database, storage, authentication), Stripe (payments), and Resend (email). They may process data only to provide their service to us.
  • Wearable/analytics providers you connect (e.g., a foot sensor or camera analytics provider), which have their own terms and privacy practices.
  • Coaches and team staff for the child's own team, to coach and evaluate the player.
  • Publicly (limited profile/leaderboard) or with scouts — only when a parent has separately enabled it, and only the limited fields described below.
  • When required by law, or to protect safety.

Public profiles & leaderboards

Public profiles are off by default. If a parent enables one, it may display only a limited name (first name + last initial), age division, general position, and verified athletic metrics. A public profile never displays a home address, school or schedule, parent phone or email, precise location, full date of birth, or medical information. A parent may disable the public profile at any time.

Wearables & third-party devices

If you connect a wearable or camera provider (such as a foot sensor or match-camera system), data from that device flows into the child's profile. Those providers are independent and govern their own collection under their own policies; review them before connecting.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service and for the purposes described, or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it. Signed consent records are kept as legal records. A parent may request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect information and limit access to those who need it.

Parental rights & choices

  • Review the information we've collected about your child.
  • Delete it, and stop further collection or use.
  • Control disclosure — enable or disable media, public profile, and scout sharing.
  • Opt out of marketing email/SMS at any time (essential, transactional messages about your account and sessions will continue).

To exercise any of these, email player@apexplayerapp.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will change the version and date above. Material changes affecting children's data will be handled consistent with COPPA, including obtaining new parental consent where required.
